I was laying on my bed. Mrs was somewhere in the house. One of my co-workers was asleep on the edge of the bed towards the foot. His wife sat to my right side. She is pretty. Not stunning. But very pretty in a wholesome, natural sort of way. The kind of girl who has slight imperfections, but they actually highlight her beauty rather than detract from it. She has blonde hair and is very adventurous. I've known them both for a few years. Without a word, she stretched out next to me laying her head on my chest. She draped her leg across me. It was a little bit shocking. But who am I to argue. I wasn't sure what to do with myself. I ventured an arm around her. She pulled herself closer. Her leg slid down along mine, her hand following from my stomach to my crotch. She let her hand rest on the growing tightness in my shorts. Suddenly, her husband snorted. He rolled from his side towards what I assume was intended to be his other side. With a flailing of arms and legs he flipped off of the bed. She got up slowly and walked around the bed to check on him in a decidedly lazy fashion. He never woke up. Sadly, I did.
I often wonder if dreams of this nature are normal or an unhealthy sign of coveting my neighbor's wife. She and I have talked extensively. While she's never come out and said it, I believe they are open to... experimentation. She once told him of a recurring erotic dream in which she watched him have sex with several other women at once. Her comment to him about the dream was that she was very turned on by it. I also know she has dabbled with other women. In fact, I wonder if she hasn't dabbled with PP. They partied together a lot for a couple of months. My coworker, P, has struck me as the type to go along with just about anything. She has mentioned they want to rent a house in a resort area near by and have an "adults only" weekend.
I won't deny that I find her very attractive. I can't say I "covet" her though. Which is why the dream surprised me.
I haven't really had time or interest in posting lately. Sometimes I just sit at my desk thinking how boring my life is that I can find nothing to write about. The past two weeks have been hell for me workwise. I finally finished the project I reluctantly accepted. I have never been more disappointed in my co-workers than this project. We had to finalize it Sunday morning. I've been doing all of the leg work myself (in spite of instructions to my team from the boss to NOT stick me with all the work). Friday I asked my boss and a couple of co-workers to move some of their stuff out of the way before Sunday. When I walked in the door Sunday morning, none of it had moved. Additionally, the only team member I asked to help didn't bother to show up. I have never felt so abandoned by my team. It's happened before. Maybe, in scale, it wasn't that big of a deal. But rather a culmination of disappointments. To me, it felt as if I had no reason to show up to work today. I'm actually considering looking to transfer off of this team. I want to talk to my boss about it. But as he was one of the people who let me down, I can't see it being a positive conversation.
Saturday night Mrs and I went to a halloween party. In a wierd way, it's sort of an anniversary... celebration isn't really the right word. Maybe tradition in better. You see, Mrs and I met at this party about 9 years ago. I had just separated from the ex-Mrs (by 2 weeks). One of my friends invited me to tag along at the last minute. I felt like an idiot because they called me at 7 to go to the party at 9. I had absolutely NO time to get a costume together. There are a lot of things about the first year or so of hanging out with that crowd as it relates to Mrs I should discuss. Not today though. Long story short, we briefly considered dating. The timing wasn't right and it didn't happen. Then, 3 or 4 years later, I asked her out. She turned me down. A couple of weeks later, she asked ME out. The rest as they say, is history. It all started with the halloween party. After that night, I was invited to more and more things with that same group of people. In a very short time, I was considered a core member of that little group. Were it not for that, I would've drifted on to something completely different. It's weird how one little event like that is pivotal.
Anyway, the party was fun, but definitely tamer than in the past. It's hell getting old. Around 1AM it was the hosts and Mrs and I. Since I had to work early Sunday morning I suggested we go a couple of times. Our hosts wouldn't have it. So we sat in the living room and chatted until around 2:30am. It was nice. Not the wild raucous drink till you either puke or pass out times from 9 years ago. But it was nice nonetheless. Sadly, a lot of the original group weren't there. Some have moved. Some have drifted off to their own group of people. Many have kids C's age or younger and simply couldn't make it. I think a lot of it has to do with a lack of group interaction. Back in the day, before kids, we did stuff together non-stop. At least once a week we met for something. Trivia night at a bar. Friday night live concerts. There were tons of parties too. Now it's down to a couple of parties a year. Sad.
To that end, Mrs and I have decided to try to resurect some of the good old days. We decided to host a New Years Eve party at our house. Traditionally, another couple have hosted it. But they had a baby this past year and have hinted that they were going to drop it. Maybe this will be the start of something new.
